“What’s Next” for you? What if you invested 48 hours in yourself to find out?
Think about it, what if you could get away from your everyday life and take time to get clear on your next chapter? What if you could discover your innate strengths and how to aim them at your goals and dreams. What if there was a place where you could do this with other women and have a fun at it?
The Women’s “What’s Next” Retreat is a 48 hour experience in the Dallas/Ft Worth area in Texas in the USA. Facilitated by Gallup certified StrengthsFinder Coaches, Madlin Mangrum and Kristin Clark, this retreat equips you to envision what’s next, explore your strengths and maximize them to accomplish your goals.
In a small-group setting, you will engage with a series of strengths development and goal-setting sessions that will allow you to determine the next steps needed to accomplish your goals—whether they be related to your health, vocation, finances, spiritual life, marriage, parenting, hobbies, or emotional health.
After each session, you will take time for personal reflection without distractions and then you will have the opportunity to share with and receive powerful feedback from the group. This is where the magic happens!
At the end of our time together, we’ll exercise our creativity to assemble individual vision boards so that you will have a visual reminder encapsulating your goals. Your vision board represents your intentions and provides a visual representation to keep you motivated to chase your dreams.
The Retreat fee of $497 includes:
- Strengths discovery sessions
- Goal-setting sessions
- Goal System workbook
- A copy of Michael Hyatt’s book, Your Best Year Ever
- Vital Friends session
- Vision Board session (materials provided)
- Lunch on Saturday and Sunday, snacks throughout the retreat

Let’s pretend we’re meeting for the first time in real life. I’m smiling, leaning into our conversation because I want to know who you really are and how I can help you. I will start by telling you what I do professionally…
I am a Gallup certified Strengthsfinder coach as well as a Digital Wellbeing coach. My heart is to help you discover, appreciate, and develop you strengths (aka “your innate superpowers”). I write and speak on healthy digital balance at UnpluggedFamily.org. I am passionate about teaching you the power of building your VFF network (Vital Friends Forever). I have a law law degree (I didn’t practice long) and for over 10 years I was the CEO of 911 Air Cargo, a company that brokered air charters for urgent cargo (once we flew 7 dolphins from Japan to Mexico!)
I could also tell you some of my personal passions … I’ve been happily married for 27 years. My amazing and very patient husband and two children get to be my main coaching targets (especially for healthy digital device balance). I’m a disciple of Jesus, which explains why I love most people, but I’m not actually Jesus, which explains why I still have a few tough relationships.
But enough about me–tell me about you!
I love mentoring and coaching young professionals, women in life and career transitions, public speaking (when I have something relevant to say), as well as being an entrepreneur and a CliftonStrengths coach. I’m passionate about leading individuals and teams to complete big projects. I spent my corporate career in direct response marketing which helped me flex both my creative and analytical sides. Most recently, I worked with corporate teams on building a strengths-based culture. I also coach high school and college students to determine a major, and ultimately a career using CliftonStrengths as a guide.
During my free time (she laughs out loud) I like to create art; I’m actually a commissioned artist but only truly love it when I’m creating something special for my family or a friend. As a boy mom, I watch sports–lots and lots of sports. (Well, I really hang out in rooms where sports are being watched by my husband and kids.) At the end of the day, I most enjoy being around friends–that’s where you come in, what’s your story?
What Inspired the Women’s “What’s Next” Retreat?
Five years ago, a few vital friends and I began a tradition of intentionally working through this process of goal-setting to make our Hairy Audacious Goals less intimidating and more attainable. One of my goals for 2017 was to become a Strengths Coach and integrate the goal-setting process with coaching to offer a dynamic weekend to other women and their vital friends. Having accomplished this goal, I am thrilled to invite you to attend the Women’s “What’s Next” Retreat in February 2019 or March 2019!
Which Friend (or Friends) Should I Bring With Me?
The Women’s “What’s Next” Retreat is the perfect opportunity for you to grab one (or two) of YOUR vital friends for an intentional time-out to reignite your dreams and map out your goals. Think of the women with whom you do life. Who is a woman who gets you? Picture a woman you can partner with to spur each other on throughout the year? Invite her to join you for the Women’s “What’s Next Retreat”. Bring your VFF (Vital Friend Forever) in February 2019 or March 2019!
What If I Don’t Have a VFF (Vital Friend Forever) to Bring With Me?
No problem! Bring a woman with whom you would like to deepen your friendship. Or, come alone and connect with other attendees–you never know when and where you might discover a new VFF! A VFF is not required to attend. You will learn more about Vital Friends, how to be one, and how to fill in the gaps of Vital Friends in your life. Register now for February 2019 or March 2019!
